Overview
This project explores how AI can move beyond ideation into actually shipping a complete, production-ready landing page. The goal was to create a modern SaaS landing page from scratch using AI tools, while still maintaining a strong sense of design quality, consistency, and control over the final output.
Rather than treating this like a quick experiment, I approached it as a real product scenario, focusing on structure, clarity, and usability across both light and dark modes.
My Role
I led the entire process end-to-end as a Product Designer, from defining the product narrative and generating the copy, to directing the UI build and refining the final experience. The work involved a mix of design thinking, prompt iteration, and visual decision-making.
Building in Codex
With the copy in place, I moved into Codex to begin building the landing page. Instead of generating everything at once, I approached it section by section. I started with the hero, then expanded into social proof, features, and supporting sections. This made it easier to control layout, spacing, and hierarchy, while gradually shaping the overall experience.
Refining the Light Mode
The initial output was functional but not refined. I spent time iterating on the light mode through multiple prompts, adjusting typography scale, improving spacing, refining button styles, and simplifying the overall visual direction. This stage felt closest to traditional design work, just translated into prompt-based execution rather than working directly in a design tool.
Generating Dark Mode
Once the light mode felt stable, I introduced the next step: generating a dark mode variant. I asked Codex to create a dark version while maintaining the existing styling system. In about four minutes, it produced a consistent result that preserved layout, typography, and spacing, while adapting the color system into a cohesive dark theme.
Reflection
This process reinforced that AI works best as a collaborator rather than a replacement. It accelerates execution, but still requires clear intent and structured thinking to produce high-quality results.
Working this way shifts the role of the designer. There is less focus on manually pushing pixels, and more emphasis on guiding systems, refining outputs, and making decisions that shape the final experience.
